Emma Withers

Emma is a warm, personable and compassionate provisionally registered psychologist. She believes in the importance of working closely and collaboratively with her clients to overcome struggles through practical solutions, with a focus on nurturing the therapeutic relationship. Emma is passionate about helping her clients to adapt to and make sense of the challenges life can bring our way.

Emma works with adolescents, adults, couples and families. She helps her clients to navigate issues and works in areas such as life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma and the perinatal period. Emma draws on a range of evidence- based interventions including Mindfulness based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (MBCT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals, couples and families, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She has pursued training and is passionate about perinatal mental health and complex trauma. Emma values the uniqueness of each of her clients and their specific needs and so utilises an individualised approach to assist her clients in developing strengths, achieving goals and improving their overall wellbeing.

Emma completed her undergraduate studies in Psychology at Macquarie University and holds an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology from Monash University. She is provisionally registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) as well as being a member of the Australian Psychology Society (APS).
