Christian Hermes
BPsych, MClinCouns, GradDipPsych, AHPRA
Christian is a registered psychologist with a decade of experience working with
individuals with trauma related diagnoses and substance use dependency. He has
experience working with all individuals across the lifespan, supporting those with
mental health diagnoses stemming from complex and acute trauma.
He is trained in multiple evidence-based modalities including, Schemas therapy,
Emotion Focused therapy, Dialectical Behavioural therapy, Interpersonal therapy,
and Eye Movement Desenstisation and Reprocessing. He approaches treatment
from a biopsychosocial perspective, understanding that there are multiple factors to
consider when supporting someone who is trying to implement change for the
betterment of their wellbeing.
Christian’s therapeutic approach is trauma informed, and he understands that
carrying a significant psychological injury can make it hard to confront the difficulties
of life. He holds a Bachelor of Psychology from Macquarie University, a Master of Clinical Counselling from Australian Catholic University and also a Graduate Diploma of Psychology Advanced from Monash University.
Christian is a direct yet compassionate clinician that draws on years of experience working
with highly complex presentations within the public system. Given his experience he
is someone who can use a little pinch of dark humour when discussing the absurdity
of life.
